Obscene costumed volunteers handing out summer reading at Redbridge library

A library had a man in a rainbow monkey costume, with a dildo penis and a fake exposed butt, handing out summer reading books.

What is happening? Why should parents going to the library's summer reading program worry that THIS is what they'll see? The website for this troupe of "performers" clearly shows this monkey performer with his fake penises inch from children's faces. There has been no vetting. No safeguarding.

And there'll just be an apology, another "isolated incident." Of course, the local Muslim women and girls know exactly what this library thinks of them now, and what may happen to them if they choose to even walk nearby. Do we think they're going to want to go in?

Even of we accept what Joss says, they are missing the important fact that a). That mostly applies to boys and b) is something carried out with peergroups.

If children are talking and laughing about genitals with, for example, their local librarian, that is rather different...

Why don't these people respect children's boundaries? Why don't these people respect parents' boundaries for their children?

Why is all of society being told that respecting pronouns is paramount, but respecting children's rights not to be confronted with sexual actions and imagery is ludicrous?

Do children not have any rights to say no? Should children and parents just accept whatever behaviour anyone wants to exhibit?

There's another one of the monitors claiming that it wasn't actually a dildo, it was just a pair of comedy monkey balls and that's anatomically correct, so anyone with a problem is a pearl clutcher.

Given the number of times that some commenters express concerns about particularly group with whom people who safeguarding are alleged to be aligned (generalising from the US rather than UK environment)…

Do Joss and others never pause to reflect just how adjacent to the point of being indistinguishable they are to some groups that have very disturbing and disruptive agenda outlined by PPs - and how closely they are conforming to Denton's plan for normalisation. (Apologies for the awkward wording.)
