I just feel so demoralised that Redbridge council cannot make the borough a safe place for women and yet has money to burn commissioning children's entertainment by "Meddlesome monkey."

So many companies dropping the ball, and (I presume) letting their interns/ grads take over the social media accounts or booking the entertainment. With disastrous results.

There's a photo of Instagram of the "if you've got it, flaunt it" comment and it appears to be in response to Exeter Library commenting on having a shock when the monkey turned around. With four laughing emoji's to show just how shocked they are.

If Exeter Library was my local library I'd be complaining just as loudly to them to them.

You're conflating two totally separate matters.

Redbridge is a hole. A Muslim trainee teacher friejd received a diabolic amount of racism while on her teaching placement in a school there. Staff and parents were vile towards her. She was the sweetest person but as she wore a hijab, they were cruel to her.

Both stories involve male contempt of women.

If that poor woman was sexually attacked then both stories include male sex related misconduct directed at women.

The situations and level of harm are very different.

There is an argument that they and loads of other behaviour related to sex and men and a desire to do what they want to/ at women and girls all comes from the same place.
