Women's skate boarding

Read this piece in the Guardian, but all I could think is how long until males get in on the act? No way to ask, of course, with comments premoderated.

I anticipate that both skateboarding and snowboarding will be vulnerable to this just at the time when they both have truly exciting young women who are superb role models for others.

It won’t be long at all. We already know that when male gymnasts do female routines they can get more height and speed so can achieve more maneuvers that are also possible due to skeletal and muscular differences. I expect it to be the same for skate/snow boarding.

It will be interesting to observe whether the scoring rules for both gymnastics and ice-skating will be recast in their emphasis on techniques (already happening in the latter) and deemphasising the 'grace and form' elements.

My heart breaks for girls put in this position. And like you said, @Helleofabore, just at a point when they're starting to get traction in a male dominated sport. Yes, it hasn't happened yet (to my knowledge) but let's face it, the temptation for mediocre boys swayed by gender ideology will be huge.
