OK can I start off by saying I know hollyoaks isn't great TV etc. But it's my one TV soap I haven't stopped watching lol. Fully aware it's naff etc! Anyway, catching up on this week's episode and one of the stories going on is a transwoman is in jail for killing her sons partner as he was a domestic abuser. So now the tw - sally- is in jail and has been beaten up and is in hospital, she has been attacked for being trans and is talking about how she is so scared to go back. I'm just a bit annoyed with this as I feel so soon after the judicial review, this is a bit emotive, and I do feel the storyline is a bit too biased against women. One of the other characters also referred to the TW as a mother. I'm actually quite annoyed by this. Sally is a father! I do feel for the many trans people who are abused but I just am not sure i like the way this has been worded, and so soon after the review. Could be a coincidence in the timing. Ahh if u got it this far, esp through soap box drama, hats off to you, I just needed to vent.
