"Westminster used to agree on LGBT+ rights. What happened?" he asks. I'm sure the comments will tell him and he won't listen:

The religious right too, don't forget them (not that I can remember when I last met a religious person in my neck of the woods).

Ben, love.
Women are REALLY ANGRY RIGHT NOW.
Telling us what we should and shouldn’t be thinking doesn’t help.

LizzieSiddal · 09/07/2021 22:33

So Ben’s piece has gone down as well as his appearance on R4Today, last month.Grin

What was it Justin Webb said? Something along the lines of “you don’t know anything about me..”. Well Ben, you don’t seem to know anything about the British public. You really should come away from that Twitter bubble.

littlbrowndog · 09/07/2021 22:34

Cripes ben. You make me look good as a writer

StandUpStraight · 09/07/2021 22:49

Well, Igneococcus, all I can say is that if you did manage to persuade what looks like a fair percentage of the Times subscriber population to comment in accordance with your instructions, you did much better than Ben and his mates, who could only manage Disgusted of Manchester.

BaronMunchausen · 09/07/2021 23:11

I suspect his mates have piled in but that their comments will have shown Pink News levels of restraint and been rejected.

TalkingOutYerArse · 09/07/2021 23:23

If you're reading this Ben, thanks love. Another own goal of yours that has well and truly just shone an even bigger, brighter and most positive light on this for us women. Noone is buying your crap past Penis Newzzzzzzzzzzz. Any sane person could've predicted the outcome. Stick to your lane eh. Yet another embarrassment.

Rhannion · 10/07/2021 02:12

Ben is getting his arse on a plate big time and Graham is rightly being thanked and credited with opening many eyes , it’s brilliant to read.

Rhannion · 10/07/2021 03:12

Interesting that Ben says in the Hello interview that he, Ben is the business man and his husband is the campaigner, what changed I wonder? What’s really in it for them?
What’s that saying again ? Follow the .....!

PurpleHoodie · 10/07/2021 07:52

Whatwouldscullydo

Not having access to a surrogate or fertility treatment is also homophobic but not dating a transman and having a baby never seems to be an option for gay men ....

Uh huh.

Gay men - that are the likes of Ben Cohen - should date, marry and have children with transmen. Because they are men #CohensWorld

highame · 10/07/2021 08:45

@littlbrowndog

Cripes ben. You make me look good as a writer
You always manage to get right to the heart of it littlbrowndog 😂
PurpleHoodie · 10/07/2021 08:47

Yes Grin

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 10/07/2021 09:20

Ben's bloke is involved with TEDxNHS?

That explains a couple of things which have seemed mysterious to me...

viques · 10/07/2021 09:42

The comments are amazing.

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 10/07/2021 09:50

@viques

The comments are amazing.
And those are the comments that are allowed to stand.
HecatesCatsInFancyHats · 10/07/2021 10:01

@Datun

It's almost fascinating. The idea that certain cohort wanted something so badly, that they just thought people would fall in line. They only had recourse to spurious arguments like suicide statistics, and oppressed minority nonsense, followed swiftly by well I'm not talking about it then, no debate.

And that's twice now that Ben has been expected to come up with something concrete and he can't.

Surely he must wonder why no one is persuaded by his argument. Or lack of one.

And peer pressure...

'At the PinkNews event last week there was consensus on a number of LGBT+ issues, from banning conversion therapy to improving services for trans people. At events like this there is a degree of competition for attention and visible support; if the SDLP leader backs something, so too must the Sinn Fein leader and so on.'

PurpleHoodie · 10/07/2021 10:12

Oh, yes!

PurpleHoodie · 10/07/2021 10:28

Pink News are not remotely interested in upholding homosexual Rights.

NeverDropYourMoonCup · 10/07/2021 10:55

@yourhairiswinterfire

Nobody agrees with me, therefore they must all be mumsnetters. That's hilarious 🤣🤣
I think it's actually

Nobody agrees with me, therefore they must all be female.

Interesting thing for him to have noticed.

Xoxoxoxoxoxox · 10/07/2021 11:00

Nobody agrees with me, therefore they must all be female.

So their views don't matter

GrimDamnFanjo · 10/07/2021 14:33

The comments are really uplifting.

PurpleHoodie · 10/07/2021 15:21

They are.

VicSynix · 10/07/2021 18:54

The comments section has truly cheered me. So many people, arguing coherently and logically and intelligently. And all BC can say on Twitter is that 'everyone' is wrong.

FloralBunting · 10/07/2021 19:31

Of course, Ben. It's definitely just hundreds of sock accounts belonging to the nasty mummies. Because your whining shite couldn't possibly be poorly received by everyone else too.

Rhannion · 10/07/2021 20:25

It’s hilarious, I bet Gasping Ben B and little Owen are annoyed too which make me very happy 😊
