Mermaids £25k fine from ICO

May not sound a big fine but coming from ICO it’s a substantial penalty. Does it confirm they are an incompetent organisation playing (in a very dangerous way) at being a credible charity?

How on earth did such a charlatan operation get such support?

they are a credible charity, even if you disagree with their actions or goals.
they gained support because they started as a group of concerned parents, like yourselves, of gender non-conforming children, who decided to support their kids rather than decide that they were wrong in their identities.
they're a grass roots charitable organisation, dedicated to helping transgender youth. parents dedicated to helping their children and others like them.

You really would think an IT specialist would know better.
