Stonewall Pathfinder School - what exactly is it?

Can anyone tell me exactly what this is? I was just about to click send on a job application when I opened a “cultural fit” document and noticed the inclusion of the statement

“We are a Stonewall Pathfinder School a support all the principles of Stonewall”

Ironically, some might say, this comes immediately after the statement “We are advocates for children and young people who are LGTBQ+”

All experiences welcome, my instincts say I should just avoid and not even apply as Stonewall principles go against my (protected) GC beliefs but I’m wondering if anyone can tell me about the practical implications of this?

I haven't heard of this so can't help but I post as a follow and also because it must be something to do with the diversity champions, maybe it's a rebrand of that or something you participate in before applying to the diversity scheme for schools?

Can I ask if it was a primary school?

I know of a secondary school who is a diversity champion but essentially they just pay lip service to the process and will probably not renew due to complaints, I won't name the school for that reason. I'm not sure you shouldn't apply as it could just be a label, I guess it depends on how on practice this would impact on your role there.

It’s a specialist school provision for both Primary and Secondary age children.

To be honest I’m a bit reluctant to take on the label I feel like I might get if I ask for information (which I know is wrong and a bit cowardly) but without divulging too much information I would be concerned about the impact of any suspicion/accusation on my current job!

Understood, sad that even the question would earn a certain label, but a reasonable concern.

Might be worth a dig around on either SW's social media to see if you can get any more details of what this programme is, or see if safe schools alliance or transgender trend might have picked up on it? It's a new one on me.

When I was a kid the local church youth group was called path finders. Stonewall have picked an apt name.
