Alleged potential Labour leadership challenge -

I read today a report in the Telegraph that Dawn Butler is believed to be seriously considering challenging Keir Starmer for leadership of the Labour Party, should Labour lose the Batley and Spen by-election. I’m sorry but the article is behind a paywall.

www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2021/06/26/keir-starmer-facing-hard-left-leadership-challenge-corbyn-ally/

“It is believed that Ms Butler would gain the support of the 34-strong Socialist Campaign Group of MPs, including Mr Corbyn, John McDonnell and Diane Abbott”.

Note that she also has the support of the champion of women Lloyd Russell-Moyle, he of the Jo Rowling should not weaponise her sexual abuse - sneer, and he has joined Dawn Butler in Batley and Spen.

This Dawn Butler who spectacularly fails to read the room. The MP who ran a poll on Twitter ‘Stonewall vs Liz Truss’ and one that horribly backfired. Not that she noticed.
The MP who declared the anti-science, anti- medical lunacy that babies are born without a sex. And double downed on it when questioned on national TV.

Because what is really going to make the constituents of the red wall run back to Labour is more southern middle class metropolitan wokesters screeching at constituents to deny all logic and get on board with the programme. And if not expect to be tarred as bigots.

I can see it now Dawn Butler as leader and her deputy Lloyd Russell-Moyle.

Labour really do not want power do they?

It will be a good 20 years before Labour get into power, thank goodness.

Yes the tankies are always plotting but this piece is just an attempt at distraction from the Hancock shitshow by the Borischer Beobachter.

?

The Telegraph has numerous articles about Hancock.

And this is why we have such shit choices to vote for. Both sides, Labour and Conservative, more interested in trying to get votes through stirring up division via pathetic generalisations.

Focusing on pushing the stereotypes, even when we might soon have a PM who represents a very wealthy Northern constituency. Rishi Sunak and his Richmond, North Yorks seat.

It's crap for everyone because it's about stoking and manufacturing hate, anger, and misplaced resentment. Rather than actual policies, let alone decent ones.

Everyone suffers, but none more so than the vulnerable of the south. London is the capital of homelessness. 165,000 homeless there. Staggering numbers. Nobody's looking out for them.

Obviously (not metropolitan middle class background) Dawn Butler would be dreadful. That's nothing to do with where she's from. Likewise northerner (Liverpool) John McDonnell.

I can't even feel sad any more. Let it burn.

It would be nice if, for the first time in decades, we got a leader of either party who wanted to help the vulnerable in the south, particularly London. You can't get more deprived than being homeless. Lacking one of life's most basic essentials. For years London's vulnerable, including many women and children, have been ignored. London is the capital of homelessness.

It's definitely a feminist issue. Two thirds of England's homeless families (largely women and children) are in London.

Obviously what we really need is a decent leader, who speaks for the whole country. Including the south.

That's how I feel. In fact I'm very eager for them to get on and finish the job of destroying the party, there will be no opportunity for something better to rise from the ashes until that happens. Labour in its current state is beyond hope but we can't wait decades for them to become a credible party of government or opposition.

donquixotedelamancha · 27/06/2021 20:54

a lot of them have since fucked off to the People's Front of Judea in disgust at Starmer and Rayner's attempts to win votes

Bit unfair to accuse Angela Rayner of trying to win votes. I'm sure she'd never knowingly do that.

Quite the dream team
Does anyone else ever wonder if they've wandered into some kind of Lewis Carroll-curated parallel universe?

I'm pretty sure something went very wrong with reality about a decade ago. At this point if David Icke has been right all along I'll barely raise an eyebrow.

A similar story in the Times was that Rayner and Nandy are waiting to take the helm too.

3 women, none of whom know what a woman is.

I was supposed to head to B&S today, to help campaign and show solidarity with KL in view of the rampant misogyny on display but I just couldn't bring myself to go - it's so bloody weakening

A far right racist holocaust denier is never right.
