So following my email about the Scottish Government guidance re supporting trans kids, I have a meeting with one of the list MSPs to discuss my concerns. I’ve a good idea of what I want to say and have resources from For Women and Safe Schools Alliance. I thought I’d tap into this lovely nest of vipers for support - I don’t want to waste the opportunity to represent my concerns for children and young people and you lot are fabulous.

What would you be saying/key messages?

How receptive are they liable to be? Do you have a particular question to ask? If not , do they have a particular interest in an area that you could target eg health, education, social work? You might find, concentrating on something they know about, a good idea. I have had mixed luck with my MSPs, although I did spend over an hour with one TWAW , maybe something I said went in , who knows?

I don’t think that it should be ok that some children are born in the wrong body. It must make children with some differences feel not so good

In terms of being receptive, I don’t know - I can’t see any special interests that would suggest a link, but he does seem to be active in representing his constituents. He’s also Tory so I imagine any excuse to be a thorn in the flesh… not my usual bedfellow but needs must 🤷‍♀️

safeguarding of other girls. not acceptable that a penis person can change with girls and other parents are not able to give informed consent to sharing accomodation etc. (there could be a generic consent fopr example without naming any particular child. )

discrimination against muslim/jewish/disabled girls and women?

I think as long as you are speaking about it from your perspective how it effectsyour child and you, you will do a good job. what is most important to you? where can you get a shift in thinking in. You might only be able to move them along a little bit from their current position. sometimes guiding them into joining the dots for themselves rather than a head on challenge works best.

What message does horn in the wrong body give to people born with disabilities?

I think a very big concern for me is the way gender seems to be forcing us backwards. Children need to play with anything they like (so long as it's not dangerous) and dress how they feel comfortable. Stereotyping seems to have made a massive comeback to the detriment of kids.

Progressives are not, it seems, progressive

I can give a real life example of what is happening in schools re gender ideology being pushed and schools supporting social transition without informing parents/doing it without parental permission. I also have a legal opinion stating that this approach as promoted by LGBTYS is unlawful. If any of that would be helpful, DM me with an email address and I’ll send you a summary.
