Bari Weiss and Abigail Shrier.

'One hundred and forty-six people in Halifax, Nova Scotia wait on a list to borrow a library book. A question hangs over them: Will activists let them read it?

The book is mine — Irreversible Damage — and it is an investigation of a medical mystery: Why is the number of teenage girls requesting (and obtaining) gender reassignment skyrocketing in the United States, Canada, Scandinavia and Europe? In Great Britain, it’s up 4,400% over the last decade. '

Excellent book. I have almost finished it.

I ordered a copy last night, I have been waiting on the paperback version. I wanted another book and that one fell into my basket as well. They really should learn that trying to ban something just makes it so much more appealing. There is probably a significant proportion of those on the list who hadn't heard of the book until they demanded it was withdrawn.

(I got it through www.hive.co.uk and it is being delivered to my local bookshop.)

It's on my list but I need to finish Stock first. Smile

Yes, I buy my books through Hive as well. They don't ban certain books like some large online sellers do.

The topic is so depressing. My niece is now identifying as non-binary and I fear she will want to change gender. My feeling is that she's been groomed in the social media echo chamber. I'd be interested to read the book and so would her parents....

Got this recently from our local library - well worth reading.
