It is true that the judicial review judgment did not ban the use of puberty blockers in under 16s. Firstly, it merely set a high bar to obtain consent, rather than imposing a ban; secondly, the judgment is not implemented, pending the appeal. But in effect it did temporarily halt the use of puberty blockers, because in response to the judgment, NHS England issued an emergency change to the service specification for GIDS which caused GIDS to halt referrals to UCLH while they undertook a review of existing contents.
