@vivariumvivariumsvivaria

Has the Baroness said what her aim is with these webinars? I wonder whether she is gathering evidence for a public enquiry
She's definitely aiming for an enquiry, she confirmed on Twitter a few weeks back and said she has many people on board 🤞
Appalonia · 25/06/2021 12:04

Just watched it. Excellent but horrified at what is happening in the NHS. And over 33k girls on Just giving raising money for 'top surgery' ! Shocking. This needs much more public awareness as most pp simply are not aware of what is happening.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 25/06/2021 12:28

Your hair - she'll wipe the floor with the people supporting the nonsense

JustcameoutGC · 25/06/2021 13:06

Nicola Williams was ace. She had tracked down the history of changes made to a database for people with HIV and Aids.

They have removed sex entirely, replacing with gender identity and some other really convoluted bollocks. But now they have a database meant to support people with hiv/aids and support research in this area, and they won't know who is having same sex sex or not, which is quite important for a sexually transmitted disease. These changes will damage the people they are supposed to help!

So gutted to have missed the last 2. Unfortunately a toddler and a baby got in the way.

Link to recorded webinar

endofthelinefinally · 25/06/2021 17:32

I would like to watch these. Does the screen show all the audience along with their email id though? I know it does when
I have done other zoom webinars and I wouldn't feel comfortable with that.
Is there anywhere to watch/share recordings?

Melroses · 25/06/2021 17:34

No, they don't show the audience. I watch with my camera turned off.

endofthelinefinally · 25/06/2021 17:36

Thanks. Yes, I do turn my camera off, but usually my email/ID shows in the square instead. I don't know how to remove/change that.

Thank you so much for this link. I woud love to watch but I can't make the Friday morning slots. Are there links to the others that have taken place that you know of?
JoodyBlue · 01/07/2021 13:59

I've just listened to the one from last week. Baroness Nicholson is wonderful.

dianebrewster · 01/07/2021 14:17

Can I reassure people that no-one in the "audience" can be seen or identified - unless you make yourself known in the chat area. The only people visible and able to speak are the invited speakers.

You can watch the chat unfold, see the questions asked etc. without having to identify yourself.

Well worth listening to - so refreshing to see grownups discussing the issues with no interruptions!

noneedtoexpelme · 01/07/2021 14:23

Her office said to check the her Twitter feed for the recordings. @Baroness_Nichol

Thank you for sharing the minutes, this is really helpful. Do you know if there are minutes available for the other sessions?

Was very good today. A pity that Glinners note about the BBC and Ch4 wasn’t taken up.

Masdintle · 09/07/2021 12:40

Thanks TheOnlyKoi I managed to catch most of it

dianebrewster · 09/07/2021 13:03

It's a shame Winston Marshall wasn't able to make it (ex Mumford and Sons who was recently 'cancelled' by the mob). the Violinist prof was very nice but clueless about the issues - he should have been watching not participating as he had no real insight to offer - he began to "get it" I think when he started musing about the cancelling of Jewish musicians and composers during the Nazi era, and the targetting of Yezidi musicians.

Some interesting discussion on being unable to be truly creative if you are confined to an "acceptable" output - and interesting to hear the ceramicist who had her work "curated" (ie censored) by the gallery space ...

Masdintle · 09/07/2021 13:05

I liked that she mentioned that Grayson Perry never gets the same sort of treatment, ever

dianebrewster · 09/07/2021 13:15

@Masdintle

I liked that she mentioned that Grayson Perry never gets the same sort of treatment, ever
yes - I'd been googling her work and thought that a very fair point. His stuff can be very provocative and political - but then I guess he's an edgy bloke not an opinionated woman 🤷🏼‍♀️
