don't know who they're aimed at, certainly not my 92 years old Ddad in the middle of watching New Tricks reruns.

Not relevant but this made me guffaw!!!

Datun · 17/06/2021 22:56

Good. You can't bloody use taxpayers' money on lobbying groups who are trying to remove their rights.

FannyCann · 17/06/2021 23:05

Marvellous news. Next they need to be turfed (see what I did there Wink) out of schools without delay.

Just saw this on Twitter.

In their accounts for the year to Sept 2019, Stonewall's expenditure slightly exceeds income. We're still waiting to see what Sept 2020 looks like (deadline to submit is end of July). I can only imagine that the current financial year will be even worse.

660k from the foreign and commonwealth office?

935k from Dept of Ed? (Bet most of that was when J Slater was perm under sec)

I want a refund.

The programme counts 250 Whitehall departments and public bodies among its 850 members

That's a big chunk of membership. Save the taxpayer a fair whack, as well.

Jonathan Slater on becoming civil service LGBTI champion July 2019

"each government department works on its own submission to the Stonewall Index. We were pleased at the DfE to have moved up the index this year"

"We’ll be looking to demonstrate to Stonewall that our HR-wide policies help to foster diversity and inclusion"

"talking to Stonewall about how we could work with them to increase the extent of training and development – through things like allies programmes and line management programmes"

"I was chosen to receive Stonewall’s Senior Champion of the Year award"

BrownTableMat · 18/06/2021 05:26

I don’t understand. It seems central govt is no longer paying for diversity training from Stonewall, but the Civil Service and other large central govt departments as well as many agencies etc remain members of the Diversity Champions network (and are presumably paying for the privilege)? I don’t understand why this is good news - it sounds as though Liz Truss has failed to persuade most other departments to leave the DC scheme and a compromise has been worked out over training?

toffeebutterpopcorn · 18/06/2021 07:11

Does that mean they will be making the loos single sex again? There’s a dept I walk past and can see their loos in reception ‘gender neutral’. Hacks me off every time I walk by.

Helleofabore · 18/06/2021 07:44

I think the crumbling has to start somewhere browntable.

Others will soon follow.

highame · 18/06/2021 07:45

Not so happy about this as i ought to be. The headline says 'Whitehall' and the Cabinet Office is not Whitehall.

There will have to be major cuts in spending and I think that's what will cause withdrawal from the scheme. The hours spent are absolutely ridiculous and post covid will not be able to be justified.

Whitehall said they would be making a statement last week and they have not yet done that. The piece also states that the Cabinet Office withdrew last year???

Inclusivity is a very exclusive business and a very expensive one.

Fingers crossed but I think the percentage of graduate's in the civil service is overwhelming, all coming fresh their desks with CRT and Queer theory running through their veins.

It wasn't just the fault of Stonewall
