Wonder what a judge would say if a young Asian man punched a sweet-looking elderly war veteran for making slight racist comments at the bus stop. Or indeed, if I did it.

This is based on a real situation and the elderly man did not get punched.

Which is a bit daft, isn't it? You're saying that we are using the fact you can't change sex as a cover, for, er, the argument that you can't change sex.

This is being covered by the PM programme on Radio 4. Although Evan Davis is often pro-gender woo they've actually got Helen Lewis on to comment.

"We don't know what the line is yet" she said. Are we waiting to be told what the line is? We do know, and it is not equivalent to not supporting gay marriage. I think actually that interview with Helen Lewis was quite disingenuous sadly, she didn't support Jess de Wahl, neither did she strongly challenge Evan's comparison with direct racism.
