So sick of these utterly craven organisations. I hope she has a legal case against them for discrimination.

So the RA have gone ostrich. I had envisaged a scenario where the SM manager got the complaints, marches into the shop and removed her work and sent the self righteous reply.

But as they contacted her in advance at least one grown up will have had to be involved.

They need to grovel very loudly and very publicly. Or have their arse sued. Simples.

I thought it went well. Love how Laurel Hubbard has just come up in the news round-up right after Jess asking calmly why biological sex is apparently an opinion now.

Jess did very well indeed. I get very fed up with the way that BBC inteviewers when confronted with the idea that there are 2 immutable sexes always immediately say something like "how would that make someone who has transitioned feel?" Facts give way to feelings now. It is so dangerous. It is basically Top Trumps played via feelings. I would actually like to hear someone argue that point rather than deflect it.

Yes, but at least R4 were very very clear that they did ask. This was a decision, not an omission.

I thought it went well and Jess v RA are the new Streisand. I think a lot of people who are still not much in the know will be incredulous and their eyes opened a bit more.

In the real world though the pattern is emerging.

Stonewall declined, the RA declined, the TRAs decline.

When you've got no legs to stand on, you're reluctant to show it.

So R4 has turned just a bit... she was fantastic and as always trans feels are considered the only feelings worth commenting on. It was great to her the truth being told.

I don't get the feeling Jess wants to devote her energies to this. She said she deliberately does not work with partners specifically because she knew the chances of a twitter pile on were high. She only accepted the RA gig, because, well it was the RA. She did not pick this fight, the RA flung it at her and then ran away, which on top of the censorship, is a really really shitty thing to do. She is a self employed artist. She has no PR department, or Board or even colleagues to lean on. She is facing this on her own with no big organisation to back her, and yet she is the one who fronts up on R4.

She also knows the score, if she enters this fray at this point in time it will be all consuming and personally really punishing. But the RA have left her very little room for manoeuvre. They really have been utter bastards.

Out of interest - how much was the ra selling her flowers for (just curious to see the mark up they were getting...)

This whole shitshow has actually been a little useful. A couple of my friends in the “well if they feel like women what’s wrong with that camp” had heard about MF and also this last week and at lunch on Saturday I was able to talk to them in a bit more detail and I think it was really helpful. They were like “but is so unlike to happen” to “no fucking way this IS already happening?!?!”

Reminds me of one Christmas when we were all rowing and being grumpy and mum stands up ‘stop! Stop quarrelling! Don’t you know what day it is?????’.

Also I wonder if the RA had already paid for stock it is no longer selling? I think she said (on Twitter) she had just accepted another order from them so I suppose that's her loss.
