I'm expecting my first delivery from Stitch Fix tomorrow. I was quite excited about it (although I know they get mixed reviews from MNers). I've followed them on Instagram for a while, and unfortunately in the last few days their posts have been Pink News propaganda rather than about clothes.
I'm GC, not transphobic. If they'd done a post of their own, being supportive of trans people's issues, I'd have no problem with that whatsoever. But these posts shared from Pink News are suggesting, for example, that in order to be an lgbt ally, everyone should state their pronouns when introducing themselves (surely Yogyakarta principles state that not even trans people should be expected to do this?).
There was also a questionable pie chart infographic showing the many issues that trans people face when apparently most people think it's only about toilets and pronouns. Things like surgery or counselling waiting times. I'm pretty sure those are problems for everyone, not just trans people.
Anyway, I'm thinking my first Stitch Fix delivery will be my last, and I shall tell them why. Not only on the strength of those specific posts, but because I'm not keen on supporting a company that's in thrall to Pink News.
