You cannot possibly listen to the stories of our detransitioning youth and think for one second this is anything like the struggle for gay rights. Let alone the violent misogyny that also seems to accompany trans rights activism.

We were not queer, we were gay. We did not have equal civil rights. We did not want anyone else's rights, we did not redefine anyone else, we did not want to stop anyone else doing anything or having anything.

@MishyJDI May I ask why you think so many people who fought for and won these rights are now criticising Stonewall?

If you look at the main voices it's Feminists, lesbians, trans people and very senior equality campaigners and experts. Together they form a big chunk of those who won equal marriage, the GRA and the EA and defeated section 28.

Do you really think they've all changed their minds overnight?

Tom Bower is married to Veronica Wadley - that's Baroness Fleet to you. She's the former editor of the Evening Standard and very close to Boris Johnson I believe. These people are all very well connected, I hope it's the sort of thing they talk about at dinner parties.
