I’m looking for alternatives to Ocado, Waitrose and John Lewis.

Sainsbury’s have drunk the koolaid - is there a grocer who hasn’t?

I know this won't be a solution for everyone but my local baker and greengrocer haven't.
Big companies - it's all "rainbow washing" anyway. Easy to stick a few posters up or put a rainbow on your website for the month of June as it doesn't require actually doing much, or spending much money.
They're all doing it because everybody else is.
I wonder if market research shows them that it makes any difference to how much customers spend with them - as that's really going to be all they care about.

Like the previous poster, I seldom use supermarkets in favour of small businesses.

Excellent idea, Perdita. I could do with this as a resource. The older I get, the less able I am to take physical action (go to demos, long meetings etc). But Iuse my spending/ boycotting power to support good causes.

Asda and the Co-op were the retailers who were highest placed in SW's woke chart in 2017, apparently.

I've just checked on Sex Matters' list and Ocado are there. sex-matters.org/stonewall-champions-list/

I'm cutting my shopping with them down to once every 4 to 6 weeks for tins, loo roll and cleaning stuff. I've started using small local shops for meat and bread and the market and a farm shop that delivers for veg etc. We have a milk man anyway.

Aldi and Lidl don't seem to be there.

And Asda aren't on it - I wonder if they left between 2017 and 2021?

Morrisons aren’t on it, which is good because they’re my local.

Asda might not be on it, but last year paid Diversity Role Models £100k to produce a kit for primary aged kids which included the PIE slogan “love has no age” and referred to a book which glamorised child sexual abuse. They also do pronoun badges and are completely woke so I don’t shop there (no hardship as their food is also shit)

I use Morrisons, I emailed them to check. Aldi I think are ok and I use local businesses as much as I can.

No idea if whoever makes Always is on the list or not, but just saw a TV advert which mentions women

Probably smaller, local businesses. I use Booths in the northwest of England. If they ever go woke I'll pelt cabbages at head office 😂

I think I read somewhere that around 93% of household expenditure was controlled by women aged 40 to 60. Not sure if that is true, but it seems nonetheless that women have a lot of pocket power they are not using. I wonder if there is a good way to leverage it.

There is something Pride related on the ASDA site, but you have to hunt to find it. Waitrose is really pushing it this year, even the app on my phone has changed colour. I think it took until they changed colours for Christmas last year for all of their branding to go back to green! Can’t see anything on Morrison’s or Tesco.

Any ideas of where to shop for teenage kids? Boys and girls. I used to shop at M&S but not any more. They have no interest in clothes and prefer joggers and/or super casual wear.
