Life-changing events don't change how happy you are

Happy people appear to be better able to cope with major changes, whether those changes are positive or negative.

Does the same hold true for unhappy people, that major changes won't change how unhappy you are?

Does this connect with the long-term emotional consequences of medically transitioning?

I think positive people are more resilient generally. However, some life events are likely to crush even the most positive person.

I would also say that if you are not generally a positive person, changes you make, what you do or where you go isn’t going to suddenly make you happy.

IME negative people just move on to the next thing to find unsatisfactory in their life.
