I saw ribbons, shall we post ribbons?

Driving back from DS's activity, small village and someone has a large bundle of ribbons on their gate and on their trees. It was glorious, I gave a little cheer.

Made me wonder abut the power of the ribbon - if I made cards with them who can I send them to?

MPs I can figure out, but, there must be CEOs that need an unaggressive but direct nudge - who would you recommend?

So, putting ribbons in a envelope with a message?

Or, maybe we could make postcards with pictures of ribbons on them, easier to do but maybe less impact?

Suffragette colours? There's a thread on twitter for sightings. Some are amazingly creative (also some women waving flags).

What are the ribbons for?

The broad overview: a feminist woman has been charged in Scotland for a tweet or tweets under the Malicious Communications Act. It has been alleged that an offending tweet consisted of a photograph of three green, white and purple ribbons (the suffragette colours) tied to a fence. I have seen this image for myself but I cannot substantiate whether she has actually been charged for this tweet in particular.

Women are now putting ribbons up everywhere.

Interestingly, no-one seems to do anything about the rape threats, death threats, pornography, and tweeters trying to rehabilitate the image of paedophiles as MAPs (minor-attracted persons).

But don't let that stop you wholeheartedly condemning Marion Millar.

Is it because it forms part of the investigation that we are not allowed to know which tweets she has been charged for?

She has not deleted any of her tweets, so those who are interested can go and see for themselves. Many people have searched for hate and threats in her messages, but nobody has been able to find anything. The picture of the ribbon is the only one we do know about with certainty. Supposedly there are five more equally horrendous tweets but we have to wait for the court case to find out which they are.

Has she not been told which ones they are, or has she been told which ones they are but told not to discuss it until the case?

I am no good at spotting what the law considers malicious, especially when politically motivated, so I see no point in trawling through tweets.

The ribbon tweet also had a hashtag with a certain actors name in it. It's possible it was the hashtag naming him that was the issue (over a number of tweets), not the ribbon, we just don't know at this point.

I'm sure if there was any evidence of hatred in her tweets, they'd be shared far and wide. And yet nada.

I hadn't realised there was such a selection of suffragette jewellery out there as well as ribbons. Must do some shopping

I have bought ribbon, lots of ribbon. I almost expected a warning message at checkout.

@BadGherkin if you found some 100% quilting cotton in a fabric you liked you could make bias binging which is a good substitute?
