Picking up on some of Mermaids copy, I find it strange / interesting how often things get related back to being “bad” for “all minorities” these days.

I am all for intersectionality, but the mindset that something that is bad for one marginalised group must be bad for all marginalised groups just doesn’t add up.

It fails to acknowledge that everyone is different and that there are rights clashes between groups. Everyone needs to be free to advocate for their specific needs.

We cannot decide things based on some sort of marginalisation top trumps, where the most marginalised person always wins. But seemingly that is where we have ended up.

Either you unquestioningly advocate for the “most oppressed” according to whatever definition of oppression is fashionable today - or you are a Nazi.

It’s Pride month and so far we’ve had legal proceedings against LGBA and today comparing feminists to Nazis.

Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.

Just showed that to DH. And said. By DEFINITION old school Feminists like me are gender non-conforming. In fact any woman or girl who questions the status quo, the difference in how men and women are treated and the expectations on them... Everywhere.. is gender non conforming.

Any woman or girl anywhere who says, this is wrong women and girls are struggling, suffering, less than. To any small or large extent. IS GENDER NONCONFORMING!!
