It's live at the moment, but you can rewind and watch from the beginning. Should be interesting.

I think there is value in someone who approaches a question like this with some honestly and ability to step apart from their own experience somewhat, even if you think the choices they made were not the best ones.

I might not think that medical transition is a great choice, and I think a career in porn points to some other issues, but I also don't think there is any question that BA can give so insight into a personal experience of dysphoria, and is wiling to engage with the questions around it with some level of maturity and integrity, or treating it as some kind of personal attack. For my part I don't really think it's my place to insist that requires publicly delving into whatever personal issues BA has that are not really my business.

It is unfortunately the case now that any time you want to disagree or even explore the dominant narrative around any identity group, it's almost necessary to protect oneself by pointing to some member of said group who shares a similar group. Even public thinkers and academics who are themselves members of these identity groups sometimes feel the need to highlight their own qualifications as a member of the said group in their writing.

Arg, should be, shares a similar opinion, above.

When will there be an edit feature?

Interesting chat with Joey and Mr Menno about the erasure of sexuality:

@yeahbutnaw

All these negative comments about Buck.

But surely you're all still comfortable undressing with him in changing rooms, right? Because you think changing rooms must be segregated by sex-at-birth, right?

That's such an odd attempt at a 'gotcha'.

Of course I'd be comfortable changing with Buck. Buck is female.

And if any woman was not she would be entitled to say so.

That really never has been the Gotcha! you think it is.

Helleofabore · 31/05/2021 15:21

If you have listened to Buck then you would know that Buck is very conscious of the level of distress that someone who is female and yet presents as male with the effects of testosterone can cause to other females.

This is another ill conceived ‘gotcha’ I think.

ufucoffee · 31/05/2021 16:32

It was a really good listen. So much sense. They should get him on This Morning to balance out those idiots who said their 2 year old was trans.

Just fine with Buck in a changing room, as Buck has female anatomy. Less thrilled with the fact that Buck, through 'his' association with public figures such as the Wachowski brothers has warped society's perception and language so much. Buck helped unleash this monster andI find it amusing 'he' is trying to put the genie back in the bottle, at least regarding some kids...at least those who are not trying to get underage rape vids off of PornHub. Then 'he' doesn't give a shit and will defend rapists.

Buck can change whereever they want to. My quibble with them is far more personal than that.
