Scottish woman told would be charged for homophobic and transphobic tweets

On Wednesday April the 28th 2021 I received a call from a PC Laura Daley from police scotland requesting i attend an interview for homophobic and transphobic tweets under the milacious communications act.

I was asked to attend that coming Friday, she told me I had to attend East Kilbride police station so I could be then transported to Cathcart police station in a police car because I would have to go to a police station where there is holding cells, I would be then processed, questioned and then most likely charged.

I told her I would not be attending any interview on that day especially with it being a bank holiday weekend because my autistic twins needed me and I was scared I would be held all weekend.

To this she told me she would attend my house with social workers for my boys.

I contacted a solicitor straight away and he was unable to get PC Daley so for the first bank holiday in May I sent my disabled twins away for fear of this officer carrying out this threat.

This absolute nonsense has been hanging over my head for a month, I can barely sleep
or eat and I still don't know what the offending tweet is, my new interview has been scheduled for Thursday the 27th May, I will find out what I am supposed to have said at that point and if I will be indeed charged, again at another bank holiday, I just want to say, anyone who knows me, knows I am not homophobic or transphobic, I am a hard working mummy who would fight to the end for the safety and dignity of women and girls and for my vulnerable twinnies.

I just scrolled through her timeline back to the start of April. There is not a single tweet on there that could be considered threatening, and certainly no direct threat to any person. Of course she could have been sending much worse things by DM, but as it's been stated that they are tweets and not messages, that doesn't seem to be the case.

Also disturbingly, her feed reads much like mine. That's quite scary.

Wasn't Ms Scottow in a bit of a Twitter spat with a TW who is well-known as a litgator, and acts for themselves, so doesn't incur the same kinds of costs. Although I think, after the case against Ms Scottow was pretty much thrown out, that particular TRA has been quite quiet (as has their cheerleader, a well-known-on-Twitter misogynist medico).

Apropos of not very much I think "well-known-on-Twitter" is the "legend in his own lunchtime" of social media. Alan Partridge, anyone?

Am I right in thinking this is part of the backlash against "wokeness"; reactionary and conservative thinkers say something controversial so they can make a stand and get some publicity? I don't mind either way, I'm just intrigued by the motive.

Posting a picture of a gun, whether plastic or real (and 3D printed plastic guns can still fire ammunition that would do serious damage) and suggesting that it should be "fully automatic" and be taken out for "target practice" because there will terfs about protesting the scandalous situation with Marion Millar in Scotland is a very real and obvious threat and Brunel University need to take a long hard look at how they address such tweets in the future.

Good to see they HAVE back-pedalled and involved the police - and I hope the police take it seriously (doubt it but we'll see).
