I’ve just been perusing job adverts at a prominent northern university and noted that, as an equal opportunities employer, they welcome applicants from all sectors of the community, “regardless of age, sex, gender, gender identity, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and transgender status.”

I can’t decide whether to award them marks for mentioning sex, or downgrade them for slipping 3 genderology terms into that list!

Can you complain that they CLEARLY want to discriminate on the grounds of gender reassignment, as they so conspicuously left this out?

Grin perhaps they should add that in too, just to be sure they’ve got it covered!!

Gender reassignment is the protected characteristic covered by the Equality Act, not 'gender', 'gender identity' or 'transgender status', whatever they are. They have bent over so far to be woke and inclusive, that they've fallen over themselves and not been properly inclusive at all. Particularly as they do not appear to welcome applications regardless of religion or pregnancy. Tut tut tut.
