Was on the fence and now furious

I’ve followed this board for a long time and never had the guts to post, but I’ve just seen a tiktok that has made me so angry I don’t actually know what to do with myself! Hence the confidence to actually post.

I have a 4 year old daughter and am trying to ride the line between inclusivity and outrage. I know she’s going to grow up in a very different world from me, and now I want the resources to be able to give an actual argument.

I am angry, and I don’t want to be angry, I want to be informed. I know it’s not anyone’s responsibility to educate me, but this is such a good resource.

It’s like the matrix isn’t it... I forget which colour pill was which but once you ‘get’ it you can’t ‘unget’ it.

I’ve been raging for a few years now (was mildly pissed off in my youth, thought things were getting better but now have the permanent rage).

I just wanted to come back to this and say THANK YOU.

I ordered the My Body is Me book and Dd adores it. It’s a bedtime favourite and it’s really helped me begin the discussion in 4yo language.

I’ve also been reading a lot on here (the Break it Down for Me thread is a godsend)

I’m still being infuriated by tiktok but I feel like I have knowledge now, and that was what I was lacking before.

So really, thank you so bloody much. I am so glad, for my daughter’s sake, I was lurking.
