An artist, Henny Beaumont, is painting 118 portraits of all the women (we know) were killed between international women’s day 2020 and 2021. She is commemorating the women, the portraits will be given to their families and friends, and a digital exhibition created which I’m assuming could be hosted in various locations to share the project. She is raising money & awareness for the Centre for Women’s Justice and Women’s Aid.

Just thought I’d share - a very sobering project.

I saw that interview and it’s very moving. Putting faces to all those names is powerful and important.

What a powerful project.

The playing of the film backwards as well, seeing the details of their features disappear and then their form and last the colours of their lives vanish.....it is a powerful work isn’t it.

(ps. it’s Henny not Henry, I mis-read it first time around as well!)

I saw an interview with Henny recently. Very moving. She is giving portraits to any bereaved families who request them.
