The mess we're in is always worth a watch. I love Helen's laugh, and seeing what change Arty has made to his home décor since last time, while Graham trips over his tongue in his eagerness to share all the latest news from clownworld.
This episode was particularly enjoyable. How comforting to realise that Bev and Kate are a couple of genuinely wise women. Reassuring too, to know that the LGB Alliance is safe in their very competent hands.
Kate and Bev make exemplary role models for anyone fighting injustice with the intent of making lasting change. I'm brimming with admiration for the superhumanly sensible way they remain focussed on the important goals, letting the slings and arrows of outrageous malice and stupidity bounce off, without distracting them in the sightest.
I fully understand why Graham is infuriated by the suffering caused by this out of control juggernaut. He sees injustice and does what he can to intervene. Brave, but easily distracted and impulsive. Which makes him an easy target for more cold bloodedly malicious types.
I'm the same, 63 years old and still I struggle to rise above provocation. It's far too easy to wind me up, and provoke me into doing and saying things that can be taken out of context and used against me. Making it all too easy to divert my attention from the important goals and fritter my energy and resources on countering irrelevant idiocies. (Sorry Bunbury, I do try!)
I wish I'd grown up to be like Bev and Kate. I wonder if they start each day with 20 minutes of zen meditation? Or doing sunrise yoga? How do they manage to stay so sublimely beneficent?
