There are numerous parties standing in this election but we will concentrate on the six who are most likely to make up the new Parliament, and examine their track record and see what promises are being made to women in the manifestos

In summary:

SNP 1/5
Greens 1/5
Lib Dems 1/5
Conservatives 4/5
Labour 3/5
ALBA 5/5

The full post is fairly short if you want to see the criteria around how these rankings were created.

Watching R4 now. I can’t guarantee that the TV won’t be taking a dive out of the window.

They were asking on twitter what we all wanted Krishnan to ask. I await woman’s rights questions (bearing in mind that this is R4)

Merename, how do you propose to tackle poverty when the SNP have failed to do so after 14 years in office while helped by massive UK subsidies?
Under independence they would lose all that financial support and start life with a 25% deficit, and a cost of billions to set up their own central bank, currency, pension and benefits administration, armed forces, and 200 embassies and thousands of consulates abroad, all to do what is currently already done more cheaply for Scotland by the UK.
You would also add costs to Scots businesses, to handle the exchange rate with the pound sterling when trading across the hard border with the UK - our biggest customer by far, at 60% of all our trade.
Not to mention the rise in mortgage payments to reflect the exchange rate of a weak new Scots currency.
Have you actually stopped to think of what you would be inflicting on poor Scots taxpayers and families with this bloody suicide plan?

The SDP are standing in Glasgow and Lothian on the regional list I think.

Does anyone know anything about the views of Margaret Graham? FWS have made me reconsider Labour as an option but it would depend on the candidate views - if she’s GC then I would vote for her.

EdinburghFeminist write to her and ask if she'll support the women's pledge.

I think people are getting too wrapped up in "ranking". The info is really in the text and it is clear that FWS think Lab have the best women's manifesto, but there is still the battle over self ID and that could ruin all that. That's why Tories and Alba were ahead (tories on track record and radio silence on GRA and Alba on being really specific on defending women).

Labour say they are committed to EA, it's just difficult to see how that works with self ID!
