These have been drafted by Safer Schools Alliance and have been posed to the Bristol Mayor Candidates, but could (should) be asked of any of any political candidates.

”You will be aware of the many concerns that have been expressed recently about the safety and wellbeing of girls and young women in schools.

It’s important, therefore, that as Mayor of Bristol girls and women will have your guarantee that you will protect their rights and stand up for them. Please will you answer the following questions as an indication of your commitment to supporting girls and women.

Will you support local schools to uphold the rights of girls to safe, private, single sex provision – including toilets, changing facilities and fair access to sport?

Will you tackle the alarming levels of misogyny and sexism in schools – particularly the rising number of sexual assaults against female pupils?

Will you take steps to protect children from accessing online pornography and ensure that relationships and sex education emphasises the short and long-term harm of pornography for both girls and boys?

Do you agree that all interested parties [including groups representing women and children] must be consulted before the introduction of policies and teaching materials that affirm and promote the ideology of gender identity?

Do you commit to addressing public and professional concerns about the teaching of gender identity ideology in schools – particularly the harmful notion that controversial medical interventions should be considered for children and teenagers who do not conform to gender and sexual stereotypes?”

Well no surprise in it is the usual charter of hatred from that lot.

They do more harm than good to women's rights. Enforcing the patriarchy and fears protecting that system, just keep us all enslaved.

Sad indeed. Thanks for highlighting.

I think you’ve misunderstood Mishy I’m not sure who you mean by ‘that lot’ and ‘they’?

I don’t see any hatred in those questions nor am I sure how any women’s rights would be harmed by asking these questions.

If you’re talking about the role of mayors and the patriarchy more generally, I’d be interested to hear more.

While thinking about 'hatred' from "that lot' - it's worth keeping in mind exactly who benefits from reduced safe guarding.

How does it enforce the patriarchy MishyJDI; I'm not sure I understand your point?
