For anyone wondering -

You can submit anonymously. You just have to register. My response was showing as 'anonymous' with no identifying information.

It's a free text box, you can write whatever you wish - there is a limit but I think enough spce to write a decent amount if you like.

Heartened to see that the submissions I coudl read (English language ones) all seemed to be supporting freedom of speech and criticising the idea of Hate crime. The only positive one I saw was from an NGO. It's an industry, this.

You need to set up an account with the EU using an email address.

The womensspaceireland website gives a good outline for objections but you can see from recent submissions that many people in former Eastern Block countries object to the new restrictions. Echoes of the former regime.

Anyone else struggling to register? It asks for a code which you get from playing a short clip which is different voices saying letters and number - presumably a random code generated each time.

It's really weird and I can't register, it won't allow me to. It's very frustrating.

What happens when you put in the code? I had to try two or three times as I got it wrong but it worked eventually - can you see the letters/numbers on the screen?

They don't make it easy do they?

I just typed in the letters on the screen. Similar to the one you do to prove that you are not a robot.

I didn't get a spoken code, that's odd ... is there no alternative? I hate those 'tick the squares with a hill' things, most of the time almost anything could be or not be the thing specified.

It was a weird thing I didn't understand but I wasn't really concentrating - deadlines make me freak out! I'm in it now. Digging up my old hate crime submissions for a cut and paste....

you could choose either the written captur or press a play button, presumably for the letters read out.

I was able to read the comments first. gave me an idea if I could write anything sensible

If you copy the code and get it wrong it then speaks it.

Very interesting to see the other submissions, nearly all objecting with a few notable exceptions. Nice to have space to say it in our own words. However went back and lost the pages . Seems a good thing to do today.

I think someone has published that this is happening somewhere in the Czech Republic media as there are loads of submissions from there.
