Sadly a group of trolls on TikTok have made this consistent joke about April 24th becoming 'National Rape Day". It is unclear what their intentions with this joke are, however, please be careful on social media that day and be aware of this sick joke. This is to just ensure that your children are aware of this joke and to not interact with trolls that are promoting this.

I am not on TikTok but surely that is against the site rules? Have you reported it? Surely it and any subsequent interactions with it should be removed and the user(s) banned?

I've reported one video I found a few days ago. I've only just been made aware that there's numerous accounts doing this. But yes I urge anyone who comes across this content to report and block it.

I saw talk of something like this on Twitter a few days ago (condemning it, not encouraging it).

Apparently men and boys are being told to film their assaults on women and girls to upload to the internet.

Fucking terrifying.

Yes it's another section of MN, Chat and AIBU are high traffic boards and putting this on Chat would reach a lot of posters who have children likely to be on TikTok.

Personally I don't consider something like this as a silly lads joke. To me that is just enabling the behavior so I will continue to take this seriously thank you 🤍

What you're doing is spreading the idea, so what may have started as a sick joke (which is what I'm getting from the 'I can't believe you're taking this seriously' responses) might actually reach a predator who will act on it. Also you're spreading paranoia.

No I'm warning parents and those who work with young people that this is a regular joke that is being spread around and needs to be stopped. Even as a joke this isn't okay.

My daughter (14) told me last week that there are boys at her school chattering about this on social media.

Her school are back from Easter tomorrow so I will be raising it with her head of year, but it seems to be more than a couple of lads on tiktok talking about it.

From what she's been saying some of the boys have been very unhappy with the recent talk about VAWG. I've already had to contact the school about the things some of the boys have been saying in front of their teachers that have been going on unchallenged.

I hope it's just hyperbole and a sick joke but I don't thinks it's impossible it even improbable that some boys will act upon it.

Many do seem very affronted at the focus on VAWG and looking fir an opportunity to push back.
