And this gorgeous berry, hazelnut cake from a WOMAN's herbal wisdom website, but obviously you can bake it without nuts.

Other wise woman recipes?

This women's wellness juice looks amazing. I just invested in a decent blender, does anyone else do healing smoothies? Beetroot is amazing for the sacred feminine cycle. Harder to find in its natural state.

"Grandma’s remedies and mom's recipes. Women in mountain villages are the keepers of the culinary knowledge passed down from mothers to daughters generation after generation."

This little shop in Tlalpujahua sounds fantastic, made me very curious about Mexican jams and preserves. I found some recipe ideas here but will keep searching for recipes by women.

The Secret History of Mexican Cooking Was Written by Women - an article about Margarita Carrillo Arronte, the chef and food expert behind the beautiful and encyclopedic “Mexico: The Cookbook,”

I love this little line - "In fact, she added, you can’t really count on a man to make a proper tortilla."

Beetroot is great for periods - as well as molasses - both good in cakes. Zucchini cake is nice - had that first in America. I’d like a good non sickly red velvet with beetroot recipe.

ArabellaScott · 13/04/2021 17:31

What about doritos? They are sort of fanny shaped. Grin

Thanks, OP, for all of these.

Oh my days. What a rabbit hole. So much to learn...

www.avogel.co.uk/biotta-juices/beetroot-juice-heart-health-and-periods/

Beetroot is magic! Years ago there was this juice seller who used to visit the street where the shop I worked in Covent Garden was and he had fresh squeezed juices. I can’t remember exactly why I told him I had endometriosis, but he would bring me a special beetroot, ginger, carrot and shatavari juice every time he came by after that. Lovely!

Helleofabore · 13/04/2021 22:52

Love buns and berries! Thanks Avocado!

Our Red Aunt......I couldn’t love this more! Thanks OP.

Artist Fiona Jack asked the High Rise Bakers social enterprise to cook up a batch of the savoury snacks as part of her new exhibition into Crawfurd’s life.

Titled Our Red Aunt, it opened at Glasgow Women’s Library on Thursday and will run until March 17.

Oooh this is wonderful!
I think we also need recipes for magical Lembas bread - fortifying, nourishing - for when the voyage is difficult and lonely and the oppressive energy of Mount Doom with all its orcs and trolls feel close. When our swords grow blue.

Legolas:
Lembas Bread, one bite is enough to fill the stomach of a grown man.=!

Merry:
How many did you eat?

Pippin:
four
