It’s a film on Prime. I’ve only just started it so I’ve no idea if it’s a feminist film, it might be the complete opposite...

Anyway the premise is that for the past 70 years women have been able to procreate asexually so men are a dying breed. It’s made as a documentary.

Thought it might be worth a watch.

I like this sort sci-fi film, will check it out.

I’m about half an hour in now (had to pause to take a call) and it’s actually really good.

Bit of a The Power vibe, turns out the women treat the men really badly when the boot’s on the other foot, but the film makes its point satirically and it works. Lots of wry humour.

Oooh I fancy this

Sounds like it’s worth watching and a quick look shows me it has subtitles so I will.

I really enjoyed it!

It’s certainly interesting

I like how’s it’s done as a factual documentary. You could almost believe it was real

Soubriquet · 12/04/2021 19:50

I like it

It’s made me laugh a couple of times too...

It’s interesting to see men on the other foot though. I can imagine them acting like this if something was to really happen. The “power” being taken away from them and given to what they see as lesser beings

Soubriquet · 12/04/2021 20:31

So do we think this miracle baby was a boy or girl in the end? I reckon it would still have been a girl just to say HA at them Grin

JensonsAcolyte · 12/04/2021 20:34

I loved the ‘I just hope it isn’t a girl’ mask slip from the husband.

I'm about 40 mins in and it's cracking isn't it?

The irony of the youngest man not having the same opportunities as the girls upon graduating, not being being allowed to talk in groups of more than 2.

So very clever and topical whilst framing it historically and with a drastic scientific and evolutionary development...

I'm loving it. Will recommend.
