Looks like some women in Edinburgh braved the cold to make a statement at Parliament this morning. Making sure all political parties know that if you can't respect our sex, then don't expect our X on election day. Hopefully this will catch on across the country and we'll see more shoes. #WomenVotingWithOurFeet

Hope this catches on south of the border too.

Within hours this hashtag will have been noticed by David Paisley and friends and be referred to as 'a transphobic dog whistle' and an example of 'right wing bigotry' blah blah blah.

But, you know what, it's not washing anymore. They can't keep calling women 'far right bigots', they can't keep calling us all transphobes and dismissing everything we say, and still expect us to dutifully turn up and put our x in 'the right box'.

It's the same with the Owen Jones thing from the weekend, the 'YOU ARE ALL TRANSPHOBIC, HOMOPHOBIC HATEFUL BIGOTS SHUUUUUT UUUUUUUP' screaming just isn't going to work for much longer. More and more people, particularly women, are seeing this for what it really is.

And yes, I really hope this catches on in England too!

Fantastic. I hope the shoes stay there until the election and shame all the people who should be working to keep us safe from those who seek to do us harm.

Well done those women. Currently thinking I'd rather spoil my ballot than give my vote to any of the parties on offer as none seem keen to stick up for my sex based rights.
