For some reason both the SWP and Women's Strike seem to be able to afford to have sponsored posts. And as usual f*book's great algorithm assumed I would be interested.

But what was heartening was to see women posting comments about just how insulting this was. And someone posted "Now I live in Brighton and this is how younger Left-leaning feminist-identifying women speak to each other."

I am getting seriously worried as to why we are bothering with education if this is the level of thought process among young people, particularly women. And those going into to debt to get a university education are somehow so stimilated by their encounter with academia that they start talking like this!

So you make fun of them, you have politics that you know will annoy or upset them, and you emphasise how young attractive to men you are.

this is their idea of liberation.

I sometimes wonder what their children's generation will conspire to do to make their lives miserable. The whole identity bullshit could provide endless ways of taking the piss.

At the moment I think we've reached the point where to sufficiently rebel against the establishment and shock them into hysteria you would now need to wear a three piece suit or twinset and embrace the fashionability of the socially over the hill and past it, vote loudly and strictly Tory, have Views about people being allowed to be female, homosexual or independent of thought if they want to, have even more shocking Views about personal responsibility and respecting others as you do yourself, despise social media and Netflix, and call yourself Barbara or Alan. Less the Hells Angels than Brideshead Revisited.

Comrade is a lovely word imo. It denotes equality between people whoever they are, man or woman.
