Looks like a great book. My paternal nana was in service, she was born in 1901 and is long gone, but my mother and I often talk about her life and what made her and my dad. She was "posh" with little money in our working class family in her very understated and civil way with serving afternoon tea beautifully presented to the family and care of clothes and linens, something I see as very interesting. She got that from service of course. Those jobs got her out of poverty and into social mobility. Something we now think important.
