Testing. This board looks nice.

I think 'no TAAT' arises from the perfectly reasonable anti whack-a-mole guideline :

If a whole thread is deleted, please don't start a new one repeating and/or rehashing everything that's been deleted. Most Mumsnetters consider that to be very bad manners - and, of course, it's highly likely that the new thread will be deleted, too.

But it's mutated into something beyond that.

ErrolTheDragon · 08/04/2021 14:43

This board is nice in theory but too quiet... along with the other feminism boards available it tends to get forgotten.

ArabellaScott · 08/04/2021 15:47

I know, Errol. I forget about it! It's a pity, it would be so nice to have a wee Bunbury/bluestocking hideaway.

I like quiet hillwalking spots where you don’t get gawped at by tourists.

ArabellaScott · 08/04/2021 15:51

Yes, exactly. Or people with loudhailers don't come up and shout in your face trying to get you to flinch or denounce all your pals, or something.

Im lurking 😀

It is quiet though, and when it gets busier the deletions will as well

Transshepherd · 12/04/2021 14:18

Last bunbury gone so I'm posting here and then off to name change, to what I'm not sure yet but I'm sure you'll recognise me.

QuentinWinters · 12/04/2021 15:06
Sad
ArabellaScott · 12/04/2021 15:09

I believe we lost gardenbird, too.

Oh bloody hell, it's a right old farce sometimes eh?

CardinalLolzy · 12/04/2021 16:55

Not Gardenbird Sad Sad Sad

ErrolTheDragon · 12/04/2021 18:02

It's like Groundhog Day, apart from the part where things gradually don't repeat themselves and get better.

CardinalLolzy · 12/04/2021 19:15

I must admit there's few names I recognise now. I NC occasionally and totally see why it's needed. But would love it if we could all be ourselves, man.

JoodyBlue · 12/04/2021 23:12

Lurking too. Not following why we need to name change. But I know that asking a straightforward question like that is a toughie these days. Sad to hear seasoned and brilliant posters gone :(

ErrolTheDragon · 13/04/2021 08:30

I've not namechanged for years. If I suddenly started getting a lot of deletions (the last I can remember was on the day trump became president iirc and was a mistake) then I might assume I was being targeted for some reason and therefore change. Some posters may worry about being doxxed and their job threatened - I'm frankly not interesting enough, zero public profile.
So my take is that if you don't feel any need to namechange, I doubt you need to. If you do, you do.

I name change because I can. Not many sites let you and I find it a wag to do it sometimes. On other sites I've had to sign up again for a new name, which is a chore if you accidentally let slip something from real life. On here I regularly alter my age by a few years and the sex of my children. But I've no doubt I have a style, most people do, so most of us are recognisable in some way.
ErrolTheDragon · 13/04/2021 22:55

I do have a few alternative names I use occasionally for mainly comedic purposes.

JoodyBlue · 13/04/2021 23:12

:) I did enjoy being part of the Barbara of Kent gang for a while

PotholeHellhole · 19/04/2021 22:43

I do like a lovely walk. I've just been for a brisk walk to the postbox and back.

Bordois · 01/05/2021 22:02

If anyones still around, mnhq have confirmed to me that starting threads with the deliberate intention to goad is OK with them so you may want to bear this in mind when responding.

CardinalLolzy · 06/05/2021 22:48

...great....!
Has Michelle been seen recently?

I am probably correct when I assume this only works one way? If we were to start threads goading our esteemed guests, that would probably not be in the spirit?
