The 'pronouns are rohypnol' idea really comes into play here too doesn't it.
'She defended and hired her paedophile father' might make you think, "what a tool, how could someone defend that behaviour? Is she mad?"
'He defended and hired his paedophile father' is more likely to make you think, "like father like son".
Exactly. Knowing what we know about abusive fathers and their daughter' from reading this article one could be forgiven for feeling sympathy for a young woman who was afraid of her father and was obliged or conned into hire him for her campaign. No mention that AC was in the house at the time and knew all about the court case and conviction and from pps screenshot the mum knew as well and called the 10 year old rape victim a slut.
from The Times article:
Reddit has been accused of censorship after a user who posted an article from The Spectator was suspended from using the platform.
The article posted on the social platform’s politics forum mentioned Aimee Challenor, a former Green Party spokeswoman who now works for Reddit. She was suspended from the party after it emerged that her father was running her campaign to become deputy leader 18 months after he was charged with raping a child. He was jailed for 22 years after being convicted.
Challenor joined the Liberal Democrats but was suspended after child sex fantasies were posted on a friend’s Twitter account. Challenor insisted she did not know the full details of the allegations against her father at the time, and said her friend’s Twitter account had been hacked and he had not posted the comments.
Nothin to do with me guv. Why would a 'friends' hacked account be any issue relating to AC?
The Spectator’s Steerpike column accused Reddit of “zealously blocking content about her” after it was revealed that a person posting an article mentioning her had been suspended.
this makes it sound like a bit of a non-issue. Content about a Reddit employe (and we tend to assume employees have gone through normal vetting procedures because that's what normal companies do). No mention of which boards AC moderates or the people that gives AC unfettered access to or why this blocking of content is a red flag.
The user was reinstated by Reddit, shortly after the moderators for the politics channel raised objections with the website. The moderators said they “had no idea what had happened, or why posting this article resulted in permanent suspension”. Other users have described Reddit’s actions as “censorship”.
Minimise, storm in a teacup, techy row - nothing to see here...
