Twitter & limits on the number of accounts you can follow?

Hi
Twitter keeps removing my follows. I’ll be on Twitter and think I wonder what that person is up to and when I search I can find them and view them but my follow is gone. So I’m not blocked by the people. Are there rules or limits I’m not aware of. I follow c1000 people (70% GC like myself), what could be happening? If it was once or twice I’d put down to my own poor memory and fickleness, having maybe unfollowed as something annoyed me, but it’s more frequent than that, and on accounts I would never unfollow.
Any ideas? Thank you!

There aren't limits on how many people you can follow. Are they GC accounts where the follows are being removed?

I did a quick Google and this might explain why my account kept unfollowing people;

You're maybe being soft blocked. That's when someone blocks you to stop you following them and then unblocks you so you don't realise they've done it.
