Makes a change from the Stonewall influenced stuff on gender that usually graces the BMJ. Not sure how to attach the pdf

SECRET SEX MARKER?

Thank goodness. The consequences of having the wrong sex on your medical records are potentially grave.

How utterly ridiculous that it has to be done in that way, though.

oldwomanwhoruns · 22/03/2021 22:48

As @vivariumvivariumsvivaria says -
We need to yell this one from the rooftops.

Medical practices now need to invent a
SECRET SEX MARKER
because the NHS thinks that this gender woo is more important than patient care.

The lunatics are truly running the asylum... Angry

ArabellaScott · 23/03/2021 12:00

So the NHS acknowledged the issue by clearly differentiating between sex and gender, noting the importance of the former for healthcare, but subsequently ignored the former and went with the latter?

This is insanity. Don't they have a duty of care?

Latest from the BMJ

This is dangerous nonsense and I’m appalled that
@bmj_latest
published something that erroneously claims that “no evidence exists that clinicians with knowledge of assigned sex provide better care”.

Responses are mostly robust on the article.

Interesting that the BMJ has responded to a blue tick with the invitation (effectively) to submit a Rapid Response - why would CCP do that, it would have a negligible audience relative to her Twitter account?
