It's an interesting exploration around how the progressive left omits to recognise Jews as victims of oppression.

I felt I recognised some parallels with the overlooking of women as an oppressed group, also. Just wondered if anyone else had read it?

I haven't but I did watch this with David Baddiel talking about it:

Yes, read it and thought the same. I bloody love DB and am fervently hoping he's GC too.

I like him, too, he's very eloquent. He really managed to organise his thoughts and examples in such a compelling way, I found it very upsetting to hear.

Wrt GC parallels, I think I recognised perhaps the hierarchy of oppression he spoke about. The way anti-semitism is downgraded to not a form of racism (even though it is and he explains why it is). felt similar to the way transphobia is always way worse than women feeling scared or losing rights.

Its on my reading list so interested in reviews.

I have some jewish heitage and as a family unit we have dealt with some racist incidents but strangely people cant place whats different some has been about the karma sutra and 'foreign' girls being up for it and a few paki go home incidents involving vandalism.

I should add these were in addition to more specific anti semitic issues which i presume the book talks about.
