See it just applies to England & Wales. Scotland have just rejected the amendment to include women as a protected group in their hate crime bill - I hope they reconsider

This is fantastic on so many levels.

If this is done right, it will expose the sheer amount of misogyny women face in this country. When it is quantified, nobody will be able to deny that women are less likely than ‘other groups’ to face oppression because there are no stats to prove it. My own MP assured me that transwomen are in more danger than women because there was no data to prove otherwise. Well, let’s put that to the test now shall we?!

Its a step in the right direction. I am going to have to do some reading around this. And I would like to see this extended to pornography and prostitution.
