I'm sorry if there is another thread on this, I couldn't see it.

What do Amazon think they are going to acheive by banning this book? I kept seeing things about it on twitter but assumed it was some sort of contraversial soft porn book. How wrong I was. It seems to be a fairly balanced look at the current gender issues and the science and phycology around them. The sort of book that would slip under most peoples radar and is unlike to upset all but the very few trans activists who are easy to offend.

Banning books just makes them more popular. It isn't even a new book.

Amazon statement confirms it will not sell any book that refers to transgender identity as gender dysphoria. #BigTech gaslighting the public & controlling access to information that doesn't fit in with its social engineering.

I just looked it up on hive, and it's there in audio format (though "out of stock" in hard copy - hardback and paperback).

Some seller(s) on bookshop.org has/ve got it, discounted. (You don't see which store is supplying it through the platform, which I think is quite a good defence for the indie bookshop(s) supplying it, in these circumstances.)

Waterstones have got it.

eBay has copies.

Amazon is powerful, and it's a significant blow if a book isn't available on Amazon, this will just remind us why we need a plurality of platforms.

Soft porn and indeed hardcore porn are no problem for Amazon. Nor are Nazis, or anything a reasonable person might view as having crossed some boundary of decency.

Reasonable looks at gender ideology, however... oh no!

It's deranged.
