I couldn't see the tweet from Homunculus because she has protected her account. I could see some of the responses to OJ's and, guess what, there are people on there going on about terrible TERFs and how trans women aren't a threat to women. So the usual fuckwits.

I honestly don't think this is hypocrisy. I think the belief in self ID is so shallow that unless the concept of 'trans' is activated, then most people talk and behave as if sex is real and that male, yes male, violence is a fact. I had a friend who completely stopped communicating with me because I disagreed that TWAW. I apparently was a 'bigot'. And yet the very next day she was on twitter stating that 'the benefits of lesbian sex is that you can't get pregnant!' It just absolutely did not cross her mind that some women have penises. So as much as I don't like Owen Jones, I don't think he's being a hypocrite here. Rather, his belief in self ID and all that entails is so shallow (a pseudo belief) that it just isn't engaging with his other deeper beliefs like 'women are threatened by male violence, and men are a danger.'

He just thinks there is a ‘wrong side of history’, and doesn’t want to be on it.

I would genuinely love to sit him down in a room one day and have a proper discussion about it to see if he’s even remotely capable of critical thought on the matter. Obviously, the door would have to be locked due to his propensity for storming off when he doesn’t like the way things are going, but still, would be fascinating.

Many of the responses to OJ''s tweet were calling him out on his hypocrisy. Anyone trying to derail it with trans nonsense was shut down, which was great to see.

He's part of the problem, but either chooses to ignore it (cognitive dissonance) or hopes we haven't noticed (rank stupidity)
