This speech, passionately and emotionally delivered, reflects the great personal cost to Graham for his involvement in this issue.

The link below goes to parliament to the TV web site and includes only Graham's speech.

I think that he spoke really fluently and well, I hope that they take on board the points that he and Helen raise.
It does reflect how much it has cost him personally which I'm saddened by and- why should it have, it is a perfectly reasonable debate to have without being bullied and silenced.
Nobody should be censored for debating this and I hope that something meaningful comes out of this.

Very powerful and very moving.

It's very sad that speaking out has cost him so much.

Thank you, Graham Linehan. I hope the tide is turning and you'll be able to devote your time to your wonderful comedy writing again.

Years ago, Father Ted was the only thing that could bring a smile to my face during months of non-stop morning (noon and night) sickness. Now my entire family can quote huge chunks of all the scripts.

"Men are not women", why should anyone have to defend themselves for uttering this truism?

JoodyBlue · 09/03/2021 19:24

I agree it was a really moving speech. I am glad that he managed to get it out. The reception by the chair was quite entertaining. There is more mumsnet discussion on it on this thread too www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/4186733-Tuesday-9th-March-could-be-a-big-day

Amazing

BettyFilous · 09/03/2021 19:48

DH and I just watched Graham’s speech. Ot was robust and inspiring. Thank you Graham.

BettyFilous · 09/03/2021 19:50

And efficient says DH. In DH’s words, anyone who wants to understand the issues should listen to Graham’s speech.

ChoccyJules · 09/03/2021 19:56

Twitter has gone all out for his throat, it’s awful.

stumbledin · 09/03/2021 20:00

Have just seen Glinner has started his own thread on this! www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/4187670-My-statement-in-the-House-of-Lords-today

Thank you for posting the video, I was hoping I would be able to watch it online somewhere.

I honestly think Twitter banning him was the best thing for his sanity. He was attacked on a daily basis there and I don't think it's possible to make much of a difference over there as Twitter has clearly been captured by the woke.

I'm really excited that they were allowed to speak today, such a huge advancement for the GC movement to be given representation at Lords.
