Received this email this morning from upmarket ready-meal company Potage. I haven’t drilled down to find the how they define ‘women’ - but I did immediately wonder the extent to which this applies to trans women. To what extent do campaigns like this expose the weaknesses of putting women and trans women in the same category without any differentiation?
(Doing my best to avoid potentially divisive language here.)

On a serious note, the pandemic has affected lots of sectors, so it's likely trans people have been affected in some way, but not in the same way as women.

I’ve seen IWD used as a cynical marketing tool. I assume they aren’t in good faith (jaded old sod that I am).

Of course I agree, @Strikemepink, but I am assuming (perhaps unfairly) that what is making women a meaningful category here are the part-time and precarious jobs that come with caring responsibilities.
Other groups who have been disproportionately affected by the pandemic will have been made vulnerable by other factors (eg poverty, outright discrimination, disability etc)
