Does anyone know where I can view this?

Biscuitsanddoombar · 04/03/2021 17:28

According to Glinner’s latest, Michael cashman is very cross about this and has asked Liz barker to do something about it.

I hope Joanna Cherry is involved in this, she was great holding Twitter to account before over their heavy handed banning of women.

I've realised that, having put HoC in the title of the thread, that this is a House of Lords committee. Interestingly Baroness Featherstone is one of the peers on the committee... committees.parliament.uk/committee/170/communications-and-digital-committee/membership

Yes Cashman is cross Grin

SorryAuntLydia · 04/03/2021 17:47

Weird how the HoLs is sane and feminist right now, obvs not including Cashman and his ilk

I'll be surprised if this actually goes ahead. On the other hand if they are disinvited I guess that sends its own message.

Surely this lot aren't dumb enough to try to cancel attendees to a House of Lords Freedom of Expression committee?

Are they?

Bet they are. There'll be lots of "intense discussions" going on in private rooms and pained telephone calls Grin

Just noticed there's a page listing members of the committee. Might be worth a few emails of support if dear Michael is upset.

Does anyone know the views of any of the committee members ?

Baroness Featherstone has previously said that feminists are not welcome in Lib Dems unless they support gender neutral toilets. She is fully TWAW. "Calling for reform of the Gender Recognition Act, she added: “I also have a message to those people who believe they can restrict trans women’s rights, deny their human rights or exclude them from women-only spaces in the name of feminists. You are not feminists. Your views are not welcome in the Liberal Democrats.”

It’s exactly what they will try to do. They don’t do irony.

I also have a message to those people who believe they can restrict trans women’s rights, deny their human rights or exclude them from women-only spaces in the name of feminists. You are not feminists. Your views are not welcome in the Liberal Democrats.

LF was one of the key people I can thank to my journey to MumsNet and why I resigned my LibDem membership.

She really doesn’t get that centering males - irrespective of how they identify - in their feminism, isn’t feminism.

And don’t worry LF - I am NEVER voting Lib Dem again.

Enjoy the money from the pharmaceutical companies.

I am looking forward to explaining to my MSP why I can't possibly vote for him in May.

LF told me my vote wasn't welcome. I respect her wishes.

That's a shame for him. He has a mortgage to pay and is about to lose his job. But, them's the breaks.
