Lily Maynard has interviewed and written about Stephanie Davies-Arai and how Transgender Trend came to be.

It's a lovely piece and Stephanie's story is so interesting. I often wonder where she finds the strength to carry on, this explains some of it at least.

I didn't know Stephanie used to write blog posts for Mumsnet. They should bring her back.

Amazing! I read it all! What a hero!

OvaHere · 02/03/2021 19:02

She's brilliant. I'm very honoured to have had the chance to meet her and listen to her speak.

RoyalCorgi · 02/03/2021 19:08

That's really lovely. What a fascinating person Stephanie is.

ChattyLion · 02/03/2021 19:26

Wow! She’s even more impressive than I thought she was. Smile

I respect her all the more after reading that account. It astounds me that some people will dismiss Stephanie, given her level of education, experience and wisdom in favour of the opinion of a mid twenties singleton who has spent the last decade playing Minecraft in their bedroom.

RozWatching · 02/03/2021 20:06

Exactly Thingybob. The 2015 inquiry led by Maria Miller quoted people like Jess Bradley, the fucking Beaumont Society (no offence, BS) and Susie Green in its final report, but not Stephanie, who was only advocating for the same cautious approach that had been Mermaids' policy until a couple of years prior. It's insane!

She is a really brave and amazing woman. What a life story.

TT have done some brilliant work and she's a complete shero for how she's exposed what has been allowed to happen in schools. Every time I read the website / blogs I learn so much.
And what an interesting background she has. Such a warm and friendly woman in real life as well.
