Federal Judge Rules Miss United States of America Can Exclude a Transgender Woman From Its Pageants

Not perhaps a women only event many of us are that interested in, but ...

Thought I would post as I think this decision was after the updated EA in the US was past.

So does that mean in different states, they can take decisions about whether or not legally trans women can be excluded from women only events.

Confusing.

This has got me thinking about ‘male gaze’. I wonder how many TWAW men will be internally nodding along to this decision. Personally as it’s a ‘beauty’ contest, let them have it. And leave our single sex spaces alone.

The prison service is required to include transgender women in women’s prisons, and female sports is not a category worth keeping, we are told - but a fricking beauty pageant can declare it excludes trans women? How much does that tell you about whose comfort and preferences are being indulged? This. Exactly this. And gives us an insight into the question- if TWAW will straight men have sex with them?

It seems many transwomen are attracted to women - hence Lesbians getting pressured to accept ‘lady dick’.

I’d willingly campaign for beauty pageants to include men.

He’s a Republican appointed district judge who’s also a Mormon. Being from Oregon is not a guarantee of wokeness!

According to the article, the decision pivoted on the Miss USA competition having (in a sense!) an artistic mission. That is the thing that allows, for instance, TV shows and movies to discriminate in hiring.

So I assume the reasoning is that Federal prisons do not have such a mission.

(Not agreeing with this state of affairs, just pointing out what the reasoning and battle lines seem to be in the federal courts).

But it's still someone else's single sex space including changing rooms.

The principle either matters or it doesn't.

Also, as judicial precedent can cross over to different cases, it's always good to get that kind of decision.

Dont beauty pageants usually have a rule about no plastic surgery anyway? How would tw get around that rule?
