Womans hour gap being filled in R4's comedy slot?

WH these days isn't great at fulfilling its brief.
But I have found a couple of 'comedy' programs that seem to be talking seriously about women's experiences & issues under the guise of comedy.

1. Between Ourselves with Marian Keyes (Thur 6:30)
2. Gossip and Goddesses with Granny Kumar (Wed 6:30)

Or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Enjoy them both. Not sure I’d say 1 is necessarily feminist, more human experience.
I’d listen to anything with Meera Syal though 😁

iirc, Both were just interviewing women which struck me as unusual.

The Granny Kumar one last week interviewed Maggie Aderin-Pocock.

I know that Marian Keyes fully subscribes to the TWAW mantra, which makes me dubious about how honest and in-depth any conversations about women's experiences and issues would be.

There was a comedy show that used to be on in the 11.30 am slot - a sort of spoof news show - that had definite subversive GC undercurrents. Frustratingly I can't remember its name, but it was always interesting to listen and pick up the subtext!

Yesterday's has a long interview with Camila Batmanghelidjh from Kids Company. It looks like she's on the road to being rehabilitated back into society.

Yes, I heard a bit of that interview nauticant, and was wondering if CB was planning a return...I'd been wondering what had happened to her after the fall of Kids Company.
